Joey is a set-and-forget automatic water shutoff system: a 316 stainless steel solenoid valve paired with a sealed moisture sensor. The moment the sensor detects water, the valve closes instantly - no motor, no ball valve, and no batteries to change for 10+ years.

No. The battery is sealed inside the housing - there are no AAs to pull out at 2am. The reset button is the only control they can reach.
